Behavioral Health Technician/BHT
DiVnity Behavioral Health Services seeks dependable, compassionate Behavioral Health Technicians to support youth in a structured residential setting. BHTs help residents build coping skills, maintain healthy routines, and work toward individualized treatment goals while providing attentive supervision. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, maintains professional boundaries, and responds calmly to challenging situations. Services are provided under clinical oversight and according to each resident’s treatment and safety plans.
Phoenix, Arizona Full-Time Rotating 12 hour shifts
Essential responsibilities
- Provide supervision and complete safety checks according to resident needs and facility procedures.
- Support daily routines, hygiene, meals, school preparation, and life skills development.
- Implement assigned treatment-plan interventions under clinical oversight.
- Use trauma-informed approaches, positive behavioral support, and approved de-escalation techniques.
- Recognize and promptly report changes in behavior, medical concerns, self-harm risks, or other safety issues.
- Complete accurate shift notes, incident reports, and handoff communication.
- Assist with medication-related tasks only as trained and authorized.
- Provide school and appointment transportation when assigned and approved to drive.
- Complete light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation while maintaining required supervision.
- Protect resident confidentiality, dignity, cultural identity, and rights.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Relevant education, training, and experience sufficient to meet the facility’s documented BHT qualifications.
- Experience supporting youth in behavioral health, residential care, or a related setting preferred.
- Strong communication, observation, documentation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm during stressful situations.
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record if transportation duties are assigned.
Compensation: $17 - $18 (Hourly)
