DiVnity Behavioral Health Services is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and safety-focused Behavioral Health Technician to support youth receiving treatment in our Phoenix residential behavioral health facilities. The BHT provides trauma-informed direct care, supervision, behavioral support, skills training, crisis prevention, and accurate clinical documentation under the oversight of a Behavioral Health Professional. The ideal candidate can build healthy rapport with youth while maintaining professional boundaries, structure, accountability, and a calm therapeutic environment.

Essential responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive care and direct supervision to youth in a residential behavioral health setting.
- Maintain awareness of each youth’s location, behavior, safety risks, supervision level, and treatment needs throughout the assigned shift.
- Implement individualized treatment plans, behavior-support strategies, safety plans, and staff instructions under appropriate clinical oversight.
- Help youth develop coping skills, emotional-regulation strategies, healthy communication, independent-living skills, and positive decision-making habits.
- Facilitate or support structured groups and activities involving life skills, social skills, recreation, wellness, and daily living.
- Use approved verbal de-escalation and crisis-prevention techniques while maintaining each youth’s dignity, rights, and safety.
- Complete progress notes, shift summaries, safety checks, medication records, incident reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Monitor and promptly report changes in behavior, mood, physical condition, medication response, self-harm risk, aggression, substance-use concerns, or elopement risk.
- Follow all emergency, suicide-prevention, missing-youth/AWOL, abuse-reporting, incident-notification, and crisis-response procedures.

- Support daily routines, including hygiene, meals, chores, school attendance, appointments, recreation, community activities, and bedtime routines
- Assist with medication administration or self-administration only when appropriately trained, authorized, and assigned.
- Transport youth to school, appointments, community activities, or other approved destinations when assigned.
- Maintain professional boundaries, client confidentiality, accurate communication, and compliance with HIPAA and mandatory-reporting requirements.
- Conduct shift handoffs and communicate relevant information to the incoming team, Behavioral Health Professional, nursing staff, and administration.
- Participate in clinical oversight, staff meetings, case reviews, Child and Family Team meetings, required training, and performance-improvement activities.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, secure, and therapeutic residential environment.
- Comply with organizational policies and applicable Arizona licensing, AHCCCS, contractual, and client-rights requirements.
Qualifications
- Must meet the organization’s established qualifications for designation as a Behavioral Health Technician.
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, psychology, social work, counseling, human services, criminal justice, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Candidates may also qualify through an acceptable combination of relevant education, training, and verified behavioral health experience.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in behavioral health, residential treatment, child welfare, foster care, juvenile justice, education, or crisis services is strongly preferred.
- Ability to recognize behavioral-health warning signs and respond calmly and appropriately during challenging situations.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, professional boundaries, youth development, cultural responsiveness, and positive behavior support.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to complete clear, objective, and timely clinical documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with youth, families, guardians, clinical providers, case managers, probation officers, Tribal representatives, schools, and other members of the treatment team.
- Must be dependable, emotionally mature, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be available for assigned 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
Compensation: $3500 - $4000 monthly
